When is an investigation an investigation? When one of the core members shows up with appropriate equipment at a site alleged to have activity.
Mike, on his way south for vacation, knew he would be passing by Eastern State and he wanted to stop in to see what it was all about - so Andy loaded him up. Mike's walk-through was in daylight hours along with the rest of the tourists, but he did do it with that equipment running. No evidence was discovered on the recordings (nor was any likely to be, under the circumstances), but the experience was invaluable nonetheless. According to Mike, there is an eerie feel to the place, and it would be interesting to see what kind of objective evidence could be collected there on a legitimate full-scale investigation.
Further, the ability to see first-hand a site in which other organizations have collected evidence helps us to evaluate the evidence they collected. Perspective isn't very achievable through video - it's tough to get a true feel for relative distances and heights until you've actually been to the site in question. Mike's overall impression of Eastern State was that this is a place we should investigate, once our budget allows it.
